As of January 2025, the minimum wage in Hungary is HUF 290,800 per month for positions that do not require any qualifications. For positions requiring at lease a hight school diploma, the guaranteed salary is HUF 348,800 per month.

Employees are entitled to 15 days of sick leave per year, during which they will receive 70% of their usual remuneration from the employer. After 15 days of, the employees are entitled to receive social security payments.

The termination notice period varies between 30 days to 60 days depending on the length of services.

Severance
Employees are entitled to severance payment when they have been employed for at least 3 years of service. It varies between 1 month’ salary to 6 months’ salary depending on the lenght of services.
